Uranium Vaseline Glass Candlestick pair.

Uranium glass, known for its distinctive glow under ultraviolet light,  has a history dating back to the early 1800s, with it's popularity peaking in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  Uranium was initially discovered in 1789 by Martin Klaproth, who later experimented with using it as a glass colorant. By the 1830s, glassmakers like Josef Riedel were using uranium oxide to create various shades of yellow and green glass, which became popular for decorative and practical items. 

In beautiful condition. Has one tiny chip on base that is only visible from the bottom. Please see pictures as they are part of the description.
