Originally goblets were earthenware and through time other materials were introduced into the stemware family. The Roman Empire was fond of the goblet and created many permutations of it in many materials. Included were metals, even lead, glass and pottery, precious metals and glass being reserved for the higher classes.

Each goblet measures 9" tall, 3'' at the base and 3 3/4" at the top.  The set is in good condition overall.  Four of the goblets show wear and fading on the gold design through use.
