Louis Godey set of 6 Match Boxes - Godey Ladies.
Louis Godey, born in New York City in 1804, moved to Philadelphia and launched Godey's Lady's Book in 1830. The magazine initially focused on French fashion and culture, with articles clipped from French publications. Many products were made from the prints including these match boxes!
Each box has a different Godey Lady on it.
Each Measure: 2 1/4" long x 1 1/2" wide x 3/4" deep
Front panels are in excellent condition. Sides and bottoms have some staining. All have original matches and 2 have unopened original matches inside.
